Automatically back up files on the Mac to iCloud

Automatic backing up to iCloud in iCloud Drive has many advantages.

No additional backup is required and the data is available on all Apple devices.
Of course, this requires sufficient storage space in the iCloud, which is subject to a charge.

To activate synchronization, follow these steps:

  1. Select  and then “System settings”.
  2. Click on “Apple ID” and then on “iCloud”
  3. Make sure that “iCloud Drive” is activated
  4. Click on “Options” next to “iCloud Drive”
  5. Activate the option “Folder ‘Desktop’ & ‘Documents'”
